Travel and Parking

The event will be held on the campus of Appalachian State University, which is located in Boone in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of northwestern North Carolina, close to Virginia and Tennessee.

NOTE CHANGE: Registration and sessions will be held in The Belk Library. Follow signs from the library parking deck off of King Street. The Keynote and lunch will be in Plemmons Student Union.

By Car

Boone is less than two hours from the region's major population centers, the campus is easily accessible via modern highways NC 421, 321, and 221 with convenient connections to interstate highways I-81, I-77, I-40, I-85 and I-26. Please use this interactive map for detailed directions. For traveling north/south at a relaxed pace, the Blue Ridge Parkway offers a more scenic route. If you are traveling on Hwy 321 (e.g. from Charlotte) please make sure you are aware of the latest travel advisory concerning that route.

By Air

Appalachian is served by four major airports: Charlotte International, Greensboro, Winston Salem, and Tri-Cities Airport; most of which also have ground transportation to Boone.

Free parking on event day is available in the College Street (Library) Parking Deck.
